Rest & Root Down Retreat
I felt called to create this 1 day retreat because many women are carrying a deep exhaustion. The constant negative noise of the world, the the relentless political climate, and the ongoing strain placed on women’s bodies and spirits have left little room for true restoration. Right now, many of us do not have the capacity for more trauma healing work, or more emotional excavation.
What we need is restoration of spirit.
The Rest & Root Down Retreat is not designed as a deep healing dive or trauma work. It is a sacred pause. A day of rest, and quiet nourishment. A space to soften, breathe, and honor the stillness within, allowing your nervous system and spirit to replenish in preparation for spring and the months ahead.
Each offering is intentionally gentle and grounding, created to support rest, presence, and inner steadiness rather than emotional processing. You’ll be guided through a cacao ceremony (tea alternative), breathwork and meditation, movement, and guided journaling. There will also be extended quiet time woven throughout the day to simply rest, reflect, or be.
You’re encouraged to bring a quiet, handheld project you enjoy, such as stitching, sketching, journaling, reading, or other non-digital gentle creative work, to support a sense of calm focus during quiet periods.
To keep this retreat accessible, vegan soup will be provided., an guests are invited to bring the remainder of their lunch and any preferred non-alcoholic beverages.
This is your invitation to slow down, root into stillness, and tend your inner foundation.
Why this is worth $125 and 6 hours of your time?
1. It is a required electronic-free space
No notifications. No photos. No scrolling. No dopamine hits.
Women cannot access this kind of mental quiet anywhere else.
2. Most women are in constant output mode
Caretaking. Planning. Managing. Holding. Fixing. Responding.
This is a rare space where nothing is needed from them.
3. Rest is resistance in a world that profits from your exhaustion
The pace of the world is designed to keep women overstimulated, dysregulated, and distracted. Choosing rest is a reclamation of autonomy.
4. You cannot manufacture this environment at home
At home there is laundry, dishes, phones, partners, pets, noise, to-do lists.
This is a container where YOU and your REST is protected.
5. It regulates the nervous system without “doing healing work”
No emotional digging. No processing. No performance.
Just simple quietness that the body rarely receives.
6. Permission to be unproductive without guilt
Women don’t rest because they feel they must earn it. Not only have you already earned it, but it’s not a luxury to be earned. It is your birthright.
7. Gentle structure makes rest actually possible
Most people don’t know how to rest anymore.
The ceremonies, journaling, and quiet projects give the mind somewhere soft to land.
8. Community without social demand
You will spend the day in the quiet company of other women. There is no small talk, no need to perform, and no expectation to be “on.”
And also, throughout the day, there will be guided, non-trauma oriented sharing circles with thoughtful prompts. Sharing is always optional, and invitational creating connection without social demand. Examples of prompts:
-What helps you feel steady when life feels loud?
-Where in your life could you allow more slowness?
-What does “being rooted” mean to you personally?
9. Winter alignment
This matches what nature is doing. Women crave seasonal alignment but don’t know how to embody it.
Winter is all about nourishing your roots, as glorious nature has been doing all winter long, with the wisdom that you can grow up and out, bigger and stronger with deeper healthy roots. Let’s be like the trees in winter and root down.
10. You will leave feeling like you had a weekend away
Without planning. Without being responsible for anyone else. Without spending hundreds or thousands of dollars.
11. Creative quiet time
You are encouraged to bring a quiet activity that you’ve been working on, meaning to get to, struggling to finish because you won’t slow down. This can be handiwork, coloring books, sorting a photo album (non digital), journaling or poetry writing, planning your garden etc.
This taps into ancestral, rhythmic calm that modern life has erased.
12. It is a reset before spring momentum begins
This is the last exhale before the year speeds up.
